Marriage Based Petition and Adjustment of Status Approved for Filipina Client in Lovington New Mexico

CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

NATIONALITY: Filipina

LOCATION: Lovington, NM

Our client from the Philippines came to the U.S. on a J-1 visa. Her J-1 program was subject to the two-year foreign residency requirement. In June 2020, our client married her current U.S. citizen husband. With our office’s assistance, she obtained her J-1 hardship waiver in July 2022.  Once she got her waiver, she retained our office for her and her son’s green card applications.  Our firm prepared and filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Applications on August 12, 2022.  Everything went smoothly and the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment came on time. On January 17, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE) for our clients’ I-693 medical record. On February 9, 2023, our office filed the response to RFE. On March 8, 2023, the green card applications were approved.
