CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status
CLIENT: Venezuela
LOCATION: Flowery Branch, GA
Our client came to the United States in November 2017 with a B-2 visitor’s visa from Venezuela. Since then, she has remained in the United States after her B-2 authorized stay period got expired. She married a U.S. Citizen in May 2019 and her U.S. citizen husband filed an I-130 petition for her and her two daughters. These I-130 petitions were approved by the USCIS in June 2021.
In February 2022, our client retained our office for her adjustment of status application. She also asked us to file her daughters’ (Petitioner’s step-daughters) adjustment of status applications.
Once retained, our firm prepared the I-485 applications on February 24, 2022. All went well and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permits came on time.
On September 5, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence and asked our client and her daughters to submit their I-693 immigration medical records. On October 16, 2023, our office filed a Response to RFE along with their I-693 records. On November 2, 2023, our client and her daughters’ green card applications were approved.
