CASE: I-130 and Consular Processing (Immigrant Visa) – Marriage-Petition
Our client, a U.S. citizen, married his wife in Burkina Faso in February 2023. Following the marriage, he returned to the United States and retained our office on April 20, 2023, to file an I-130 petition and immigrant visa application for his wife. We filed the I-130 petition on May 5, 2023, and it was approved by USCIS on May 23, 2024.
Upon approval of the I-130 petition, we submitted the immigrant visa packet to the National Visa Center on June 25, 2024. The National Visa Center then forwarded the client’s materials to the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. An interview was scheduled at the Embassy, and we prepared the client for it. On February 26, 2025, the interview took place, and the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou issued her immigrant visa on the same day.
With the approved immigrant visa, our client’s wife can travel to the United States and receive her green card within two months of her entry.
