CASE: I-751
APPLICANT: Nigerian
LOCATION: Sugar Land, TX
Our client contacted our office in March 2023 regarding her I-751 application.
She is from Nigeria and she married a U.S. citizen. Through his marriage, she obtained a 2-year conditional green card in June 2021. Thus, her conditional residency terminated in June 2023.
To comply with immigration requirements, our client and her husband had to file an I-751 Joint Petition to Remove Conditions. She retained our office on March 18, 2023, and our office prepared the I-751 application.
On May 25, 2023, our office filed the I-751 application to the USCIS with multiple affidavits from her friends and family members, joint bank statements, utility bills, joint tax documents, and photos of our client and her husband to demonstrate the bona fideness of their marriage.
In September 2023, the USCIS scheduled an interview for our client and her husband. Our client and her husband were requested to appear for the interview at the USCIS Houston, TX Field Office. Prior to the interview, our office prepared them thoroughly via conference. Attorney Sung Hee (Glen) Yu, Esq. also accompanied our clients as well. The interview went well on October 11, 2023. However, the USCIS issued Request for Evidence on October 12, 2023 and requested our client to submit more bona fide marital documents. On December 21, 2023, our office filed Response to RFE along with extensive bona fide marital documents from our clients. Eventually, on January 11, 2024, the USCIS approved our client’s I-751 application.
