CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status (F-2A category)
CLIENT: Ghanaian
LOCATION: Haslet, TX
Our client came to the United States from Ghana. He married his spouse (Greencard holder) in December 2018 in Ghana. His wife then came back to the U.S. and filed the I-130 petition for him in October 2019. This petition remained pending.
Our client came to the United States with a B-2 visitor’s visa to see his wife in December 2021. Later, he learned that he can file his adjustment of status application based on the pending I-130 petition for him. He retained our office for his green card application on February 28, 2022. Our firm filed the I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on March 17, 2022. The priority date for the F-2A category was current at the time of the filing. All went well and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permits came on time.
However, on May 2, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence for our client’s I-693 immigration medical. Our office filed the response to RFE with the I-693 record on June 27, 2023. On July 13, 2023, his green card application was approved without an interview.
