CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

Our client came to the United States from Italy on a J-1 exchange visitor’s visa. His J-1 program was not subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement. He married a U.S. Citizen in October 2021. He retained our office for his green card application on June 19, 2022. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on September 9, 2022. All went well and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permits came on time. The USCIS approved the I-130 petition on March 28, 2023. On the same day, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence and asked our client submit his I-693 immigration medical records. Our client filed his I-693 record. On May 18, 2023, our client’s green card application was approved.
