CASE: Adjustment of Status in Removal Proceedings
CLIENT: From Burkina Faso
LOCATION: Bedford, OH (Client) / Cleveland, OH (EOIR)
Our client came to the United States in January 2014 on an F-1 student visa from Burkina Faso. She filed for asylum and her asylum was referred to the Cleveland Immigration Court. She married a U.S. Citizen in May 2019. Our client contacted our office to seek legal representation. With our legal assistance, our client’s husband filed an I-130 petition and this was approved on December 16, 2019.
Our office filed the I-485 Adjustment of Status Application and other supporting documents to the Cleveland Immigration Court. We withdrew our client’s asylum case as well.
On June 2, 2023, Attorney Sung Hee (Glen) Yu represented our client at her Individual Hearing for adjustment of status at the Cleveland Immigration Court. After the hearing, the Immigration Judge granted our client’s adjustment of status relief. Our client’s removal case was terminated simultaneously. Now, our client is a green card holder.
