CASE: I-130 (Petition for Parent) and Adjustment of Status
CLIENT: Filipina
LOCATION: New York, NY
Our client retained us for her I-485 Adjustment of Status application, based on an approved I-130 petition filed by her U.S. citizen daughter. Our client came to the United States from the Philippines with a B-2 visitor’s visa in September 2022. She contacted our office in December 2022 and discussed her I-485 Adjustment of Status application. Following the consultation, she retained our office on December 15, 2022.
Once retained, our firm prepared and filed the I-485 Adjustment of Status Application, along with the approved I-130 petition, on December 27, 2022. Everything proceeded smoothly, and the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment notices arrived on time. However, on December 9, 2024, USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE), requesting our client submit a police clearance and a sworn affidavit due to the poor quality of her fingerprints. Our office filed the Response to the RFE on February 19, 2025. Ultimately, on March 11, 2025, our client’s Adjustment of Status application was approved.
