Adjustment of Status Approval Based on Approved I-130 Immediate Relative Parent Petition for Filipina Client in Chicago Illinois

CASE: I-130 (Petitions for Parent) and Adjustment of Status
CLIENT: Filipina
LOCATION: Chicago, IL

Our client retained us to petition for her mother, who came to the U.S. from the Philippines. Our client is a U.S. citizen, and her mother entered the United States with a B-2 visitor’s visa in January 2003 from the Philippines. Her mother has remained in the United States since then. She contacted our office in July 2024 and discussed her I-130 petition and her mother’s adjustment of status application with us. After the consultation, she retained our office on July 22, 2024.

Once retained, our firm prepared and filed the I-130 Immigrant Visa Petition and the I-485 Adjustment of Status Application for her mother on October 21, 2024. Everything proceeded smoothly; the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment all arrived on time. Finally, on February 13, 2025, our client’s mother’s adjustment of status application was approved.
