CASE: I-130 and Consular Processing (Immigrant Visa) – Marriage-Petition
Our client, a U.S. citizen, married his wife in the Philippines in March 2022. After the marriage, he returned to the United States and filed the I-130 petition for his wife himself. However, he received a Request for Evidence (RFE) for his I-130 and retained our office to respond to the RFE. He retained our office on March 24, 2023. We filed the RFE response on July 5, 2023. The I-130 petition was approved by USCIS on July 16, 2023.
Following the approval, we submitted the immigrant visa packets to the National Visa Center on October 2, 2023, and they forwarded our client’s materials to the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines. An interview notice was scheduled for the client at the Embassy, and we prepared her for the interview. On January 30, 2025, the interview was conducted. On February 26, 2025, the U.S. Embassy approved and issued her immigrant visa.
With the immigrant visa, our client’s wife can travel to the United States and receive her green card within two months of her entry.
