D-1 and D-2 Visas for Crewmembers

D-1

The D-1 Visa is for crewpersons serving in good faith for normal operations aboard vessels docked in the U.S. temporarily. Musicians, technicians, stewards, and chefs serving in these vessels may apply. With the D-1 Visa, they may temporarily remain in the United States but may only perform their crewman duties while in this country.

D-2

The D-2 Visa is also for crewmember in normal operations working aboard vessels docked in the United States. They are designed though for crewmembers who are leaving one vessel to depart on another.
